The countdown for the war against Iran is on. Such a war would surely lead to thousands of casualties among the civilian population and destabilise the region even more. Instead of starting honest negotiations the EU helps to escalate the conflict with Iran. Especially the EU3 (France, Germany and Great Britain) are active as negotiators but so far they only succeeded in escalating the conflict. The French Government even threatened to use Atomic Weapons against so called terror states – and obviously meant Iran. Is the global dilemma of distinguishing between “peaceful” civil and dangerous military usage of atomic energy really solved by just focussing on Iran’s nuclear programme? What does the Non Proliferation Treaty really imply regarding Tehran’s plans and are the nuclear plants and bombs of the EU-states really legal and legitimate?
