Workshop on the international campaign for disarmement to combat poverty, launched by Frères des Hommes, PILER and Ekta Parishad. Converting military budgets to finance human security and social development. Huge amounts of money are available both in North and South which could be and should be reallocated to combat poverty and build democracy from below in order to achieve the goals of the Millennium Development Goals. The campaign proposes to carry further the existing efforts to develop dialogue and active convergence in order to enlarge non-violent mobilisations and public debates not only in the sub-continent but in Europe as well.
