The youth are taking part in the ongoing World Social Forum conference in Nairobi.
But they must be careful that women’s groups and politicians do not exploit them. They need empowerment in leadership and politics and not soft loans at high interest rates that may make them bankrupt.
Gender activism has marginalised the youth. Women have taken all positions that men have not scooped in NGOs and churches.
Due to gender segregation, the youth have no political representation at the grassroots.
Women must not be allowed to create conflict among the youth in the name of gender equality and activism. Male and female youth should be left to solve their own problems and challenges.
