African Social Forum

The African Social Forum is an open meeting space aimed at deepening reflections, democratic debate, formulating proposals, experiences and articulation of efficient actions, entities and African social movements which are opposed to neo-liberalism, injustice and the domination of the world by market forces. The African Social Forum shall speak as a continental body for all social forums and movements in Africa as enshrined in the charter of principles.

The Africa Social Forum secretariat is house in ENDA- Dakar-Senegal. However, its members are constituted from different countries and social movements within Africa. It also has a number of partners around the world which it works with. The ASF council and secretariat worked closely with the Eastern African Organizing committee and it’s secretariat in Nairobi during the preparation of the WSF 2007 in Nairobi Kenya. As a process, there are a number of meetings that were held, the few minutes below are a record of their deliberations.
